			<CONTENT>I am writing to draw attention to the critical yet underexplored relationship between psychoanalysis and pedagogy, which can significantly improve teaching methodologies and student learning outcomes. Despite their historical interconnectedness, these disciplines have grown apart, leaving a gap in educational practices that could otherwise benefit from psychodynamic insights.

		<TitleF>A Comprehensive Approach to Psychological Challenges in Patients With Multiple Sclerosis: The Role of Transdiagnostic Factors and Demographic Variables</TitleF>
		<TitleE></TitleE>

			<CONTENT>Objective: Multiple sclerosis (MS) can become a significant challenge due to its high comorbidity with mood and anxiety disorders. Despite extensive research on psychological symptoms in MS, the role of transdiagnostic protective factors, demographic variables, and the interplay between these factors have received less attention. This study aimed to investigate the interaction between psychological symptoms, transdiagnostic factors, and demographic variables in patients with MS.&#160;
Methods: Data were collected and analyzed from 154 patients with MS. The participants completed the demographic data form, Yale-Brown obsessive-compulsive scale, Beck depression inventory-II (BDI-II), generalized anxiety disorder-7 scale, the difficulties in emotion regulation scale, and Connor-Davidson resilience scale (CDRS). Path analyses were performed using the lavaan package in R software.&#160;
Results: The findings indicate that a higher age at MS onset and longer disease duration are directly associated with increased depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) symptoms, as well as patients&#8217; perception of disability (PDS). Additionally, resilience negatively and difficulties in emotion regulation positively contributed to more severe symptoms of depression OCD and anxiety. Through the mediating role of depression, resilience and difficulties in emotion regulation are indirectly associated with a milder and more severe PDS, respectively.
Conclusion: The results highlight the importance of demographic characteristics, particularly the role of disease duration in the development of depression, as well as the impact of depression on patients&#8217; PDS. Moreover, the protective role of resilience and the detrimental role of difficulties in emotion regulation underscores the need for targeted psychological interventions in MS rehabilitation.</CONTENT>

			<CONTENT>Objective: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic disease that increases the possibility of mental disorders due to physical problems. Therefore, psychological interventions such as diabetes self-care activities (DSCA) can probably create positive changes in the psychological activity indicators. Also, therapists have focused on improving these patients&#8217; psychological security (PS). Group cognitive-behavioral therapy (GCBT) is a common method for improving PS and DSCA. &#160;
Methods: This quasi-experimental research aimed to explore the effectiveness of GCBT on the PS and DSCA in patients with T2DM. It was conducted with a pre-test -post-test design and a control group on 30 elderly female diabetic patients during the summer of 2023. The convenience sampling method was implemented to select subjects. They were randomly assigned into two groups (test and control) of 15 subjects. We used Maslow&#8217;s psychosocial security questionnaire and the self-care behavior questionnaire by Robert Thompson and Glasgow to collect study data.&#160;
Results: The results of the analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) indicated that GCBT significantly increased the PS and the DSCA in the patients with T2DM (P&#8804;0.05). GCBT was effective in improving the PS and the DSCA of the patients with T2DM. The GCBT intervention with the protocol used in this study effectively increased PS and DSCA in patients with T2DM.&#160;
Conclusion: Therefore, GCBT can be used along with drug treatments for patients with T2DM. In addition, it is recommended that planners design programs based on this research to improve the PS and the DSCA of patients with T2DM.</CONTENT>

			<CONTENT>Objective: Depression and suicidal thoughts are severe issues in the field of mental health, and identifying factors affecting them can be a practical step to prevent them. This study examined the relationships between effortful control and rumination with suicidal ideation through mediation emotion regulation, entrapment, and depression.
Methods: The study used a cross-sectional design. The sample comprised university students (n=222, 75.4% women). Participants completed the effortful control scale, difficulty in emotion regulation scale-short form, entrapment scale, rumination-reflection scale, Beck scale for suicidal ideation, and Beck depression inventory.&#160;
Results: The results of the path analysis showed that the variables of rumination and effortful control had a significant effect on suicidal ideation through emotion regulation and depression. Furthermore, entrapment through depression affected suicidal ideation. The proposed model had good fit indices.&#160;
Conclusion: It seems that cognitive defects reduce the ability to regulate emotions and make individuals vulnerable to depression and suicidal ideation. The results indicate the importance of strengthening emotion regulation and effortful control to prevent depression and suicidal ideation.</CONTENT>

			<CONTENT>Objective: Parents who lose a child due to a human factor, such as intentional homicide, experience profound and excruciating grief. The model of complicated grief is heavily influenced by culture, and this influence is even more pronounced in cases of grief resulting from homicide, which is tied to the criminal justice system&#8212;the present study aimed to conceptualize homicide-related grief in two phases. In the first phase, the researcher sought to understand the nature of grief among this group of bereaved parents. In the second phase, based on the qualitative analysis of the findings, an integrated intervention was developed to address the specific needs of these survivors and the content validity was assessed by specialists.
Methods: This qualitative study employed a phenomenological approach and included parents who had lost their children to homicide. Participants were selected through purposive sampling from judicial courts in Gilan Province, Iran and the sample size was determined based on the data saturation criteria. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, and the analysis followed Colaizzi&#8217;s seven-step method.
Results: Qualitative analysis of the interviews in the first phase identified three main themes&#8212;intrapersonal, interpersonal, and unfamiliar context&#8212;along with 45 subthemes. In the second phase, an integrative homicide bereavement intervention (IHBI) was developed, consisting of three stages and 18 sessions. The content validity index and content validity ratio were 0.98 and 0.84, respectively.
Conclusion: Bereaved parents who have lost a child to homicide face unique challenges that disrupt the healthy processing of grief-related emotions and significantly hinder their ability to carry out grief-related tasks. Based on the findings of this study, a specialized integrative grief intervention was developed to address the distinct needs of this group of survivors. The evaluation of expert opinions on this intervention indicates that it possesses acceptable content validity and can be utilized by therapists working with these survivors in judicial and law enforcement organizations.</CONTENT>

			<CONTENT>Objective: The present study examined the mediating role of emotion regulation difficulties and executive function deficits in the relationship between childhood traumas and identity disturbance in adolescent boys.&#160;
Methods: This descriptive, cross-sectional study utilizes a correlational design employing structural equation modeling. A sample of 311 adolescent boys from Yazd City, Iran, was included in the study (mean age=16.95 years) and selected through convenience and purposive sampling. Data were collected through a childhood trauma questionnaire (CTQ), difficulties in emotion regulation scale (DERS) (short form), cognitive abilities questionnaire and adolescent identity development questionnaire.
Results: The final model indicated that the direct relationship between childhood trauma and identity disturbance was not significant. Instead, this relationship was mediated by executive function deficits and difficulties in emotion regulation. The direct relationship between childhood trauma and emotion regulation difficulty was not significant; instead, childhood trauma affected difficulties in emotion regulation through the mediation of executive function deficits. Therefore, in the relationship between childhood trauma and identity disturbance, emotion regulation functioned as a second-order mediating variable.
Conclusion: Considering emotion regulation and executive functions in designing preventive and therapeutic interventions can be beneficial when working with adolescents experiencing identity disturbance and childhood traumatic experiences.</CONTENT>

			<CONTENT>Objective: Due to the widespread prevalence of social anxiety and its considerable consequences, research in this area is imperative. The present study was conducted to examine the perceived parental psychological control (PPPC) and its relationship with social anxiety symptoms (SAS) with behavioral inhibition (BI), serving as a mediating factor among female university students in Tehran City, Iran.
Methods: The research sample includes 300 Iranian female university students aged 18 to 25 selected through convenience sampling from April to August 2023. The data were collected by the dependent and achievement-oriented psychological control scales, the social phobia inventory, and the behavioral activation/inhibition scale. The obtained data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation and path analysis in SPSS software, version 26 and AMOS software, version 24.
Results: A significant positive correlation was found between PPPC and SAS (P&#8804;0.01), as well as BI (P&#8804;0.01). The path analysis revealed that BI mediates between PPPC and SAS (P&#8804;0.01).
Conclusion: Findings show that PPPC is related to SAS, and BI plays a mediating role that can partially increase social anxiety in this relationship.</CONTENT>

			<CONTENT>Objective: The tendency toward substance use is a significant societal concern that affects occupational performance, social functioning, and interpersonal relationships. The current research explored the relationship between childhood trauma and the propensity for substance use, focusing specifically on the mediating role of self-compassion.
Methods: A correlational design, complemented by structural equation modeling (SEM), was employed to collect data from 350 students at Urmia University, Urmia City, Iran, during the 2023&#8211;2024 academic year. The participants completed validated questionnaires measuring substance use tendency, childhood trauma, and self-compassion.&#160;
Results: The findings indicated that childhood trauma had significant direct effects on both substance use tendency (B=0.43, P&#60;0.005) and self-compassion (B=0.49, P&#60;0.005). Self-compassion also significantly affected substance use tendencies (B=0.51, P&#60;0.005).
Conclusion: The outcomes indicated a notable indirect influence of childhood trauma on substance use tendencies via self-compassion, highlighting its function as a mediator and its potential as a focus for intervention strategies.</CONTENT>
